Friday hike...

We went on a hike a few days before everyone got so sick. The weather was cool and the kids were in a good mood. On our way there, Noah fell asleep but was refreshed as he woke, for the hike. We passed (rather were passed) by lots of runners, walkers and bike riders and we were the only little family of hikers. The hike was in an area where lots of people go for their lunch run or go to get their daily exercise in...so not many kids.

We enjoyed our time together, we rested when someone wanted a rest (every 5 minutes or so) and snacked when we wanted to snack. Waited for the 'slackers' and raced each other to the designated spot. We found lots of giant sycamore trees around each bend in the trail and revelled in their massiveness from the kids' eye-view. The hike was perfect in how long we were gone and in distance. We weren't in it for a long haul that day, but it was a shorter hike that we all enjoyed and would probably do again (after doing all the other hikes in San Diego).
