Springtime...

It may be the middle of winter but it feels like spring has sprung around here! Rebekah and I love spring and today we thought of all the hummingbirds outside. We got out our hummingbird feeder and made some nectar for it. It was super easy. The only long part was waiting for it to cool before we put it outside.

Here's what we did.
Put 1/4 cup of sugar and 3/4 water into a small sauce pot. Put it on the stove to dissolve the sugar, not to boil it up. Just dissolve the sugar. Then we put the pot aside to cool. When it was cool we poured it into the hummingbird feeder and hung it outside.

We will empty and refill it every 4-5 days. This is so that no icky bacteria or mold grows inside and harms the hummingbirds.

In my experience we have to fill it a few times before the hummingbirds "discover" it. So now we wait!

Thanks for stopping in!
